Tashkeel has been nurturing the UAE’s fledgeling creative and cultural practitioners for 11 years now, with increasingly impressive results. This would be an excellent place to be associated with; the atmosphere is great, the ambitions are high, the creativity is strong. So if you fit the description of “experienced and committed individuals” for a newly established Studio & Engagement Team, check out these positions …
Studio & Engagement Manager: the meaty job is the team leader role – an advocate for creative learning and practitioner development who will runs the Studio & Engagement Team and plan, deliver and evaluate Tashkeel’s core Critical Practice and Residency Programmes. The requirements are pretty stringent and include five or more years’ experience, preferably in a similar non-profit arts organisation; a good network of professional contacts; and “excellent” knowledge of the UAE’s arts/design world. Job description here.
Professional Practice Coordinator: one of the three new positions in Tashkeel. This looks really interesting– it includes running practical and theoretical workshops for practitioners, and organising public talks, panel discussions and other activities accompanying Tashkeel events. Needs two years’ experience and knowledge of the arts/design scene. Job description here.
Education & Outreach Coordinator: another interesting one – liaise with schools and young people, set up workshops and other events (including children’s’ camps). Needs two years’ experience and some knowledge of education curriculums and practice. Job description here.
Membership Coordinator: the main point of contact for Tashkeel members, providing advice and information to ensure they have the necessary support to progress in their practice both technically and artistically. Looks like it’s aimed at an early-career artist who wants to get involved with an arts management career while developing their own practice. Job description here.
Deadline for applications: midnight on 26 January.
