#WOWJBR Street Beats

The second edition of Street Beats, the 10-day free al fresco music festival held along JBR, features more than 200 performances by 55 artists from over 20 countries from 18 to 27 February.
Live performers include Hamood Bafoory, “the first Emirati rocker” (oh really?); Ray, the UAE beatbox champion for 2012; and loop pedal artist Adam Baluch; The Snake Charmer, aka Archy J, “India’s first female bagpiper”; flute loop player Sean Regan; and classical singer Josephine Shaw.
Also playing: Adam Kadabra, Walter Scalzone, The Supernovas, G-Beat, Francoise Crosbie, Nya Crea, Matt West, Leanna Kerry, Josh McCartney, Pimms Brooke, Dubai Royal Mariachi, Greg Pearson, WYWY, Leoné Murphy, Gari Deegan, Aman Sheriff, Jamie Wrecs, Maryna Georgievna, AJ and the Gang, Ollie Chapman, Ibby VK, Toi Dupras, Jay Abo, Carl & The Reda Mafia, Down Home, Lisa D, Hasan Malik, Jin Flora, Inas, Hamdan Al-Abri, Rony Sarkis, Pasha Cazan, Echo Vessel, Taho Tito, Sam Tring, Peter Antal, Vandalye, Sparks, Game Over, Marko, Chinua Hawk, Bass Mic, Hannie, Cat Indigo, Soumik Datta, and Tatiana Durova.
The website wasn’t live when we checked (it may be now) so we don’t know the schedule. But last year Street beats ran from around 5pm to 11.30pm, with sessions typically of 30 minutes per act and concurrent performances on all five of the plaza levels from Sadaf to Shams.
