Quoz Arts Fest
25 January - 26 JanuaryFree
Quoz Arts Fest returns for its 7th edition on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 January 2019, 10am to 10pm on both days. It’s bigger and broader than before, and it has a theme – CTRL+ALT+ACTION, encouraging us to “focus on inspiring and educating visitors to learn and embrace small changes that contribute to sustainability across all facets”.
There’s certainly a lot going on in Alserkal Avenue, including on the art front the Asia Contemporary Art Week Field Meeting (its first time outside of North America): new or ongoing exhibitions at most of the galleries, with free guided tours: and ‘Putting for Pleasure and Politics’, a group exhibition featuring nine artist-designed minigolf holes, curated by NYUAD professor David Darts.
Elsewhere there’s the opening two days of Short+Sweet Dubai: Reel Palestine is finishing its run: Yadawei Ceramics Studio is running free workshops (throw a pot): and there are dance workshops at Palais De DANSE and Sima Performing Arts.
On the sustainability side you could check out the Emirates Nature Foundation & WWF Photography Exhibition at Mirzam, the ‘Furniture for Life’ exhibition at ikonhouse, and multiple installations and workshops for adults and kids around the Avenue including the Re-think Plastic workshop at Akka Project Dubai.
The Festival is free and open to the whole family “including pets”, with other activities including performances, workshops, tours, film screenings, food outlets, and live music.
