An exhibition of images by the award-winning Italian photographer and journalist Alessio Mamo in 2017, highlighting the stories of patients treated at the Médecins Sans Frontières Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman; the hospital was set up in 2006 in response to the severe injuries seen by MSF during the Iraq war. Mamo visited the hospital every day for a month to build relationships with the patients.
The exhibition opens with the screening of a short documentary on patients currently being treated at the MSF Reconstructive Surgery Hospital, followed by a panel discussion with Dr Rasheed Al-Sammarraie, Head of Reconstructive Surgery at the Amman Hospital; Alexandre Crubezy, Country Representative for MSF in Jordan; journalist Martha Bellingreri, co-author of the exhibition; and photographer Alessio Mamo. The exhibition itself opens at 8.30pm. Attendance at the opening event is free, but pre-register here.
