Oleksiy Lytvynenko’s paintings have the group title ‘Buds’ and reflect careful observation of cyclical process occurring in nature. Observing how spring means rebirth for plants, Lytvynenko focuses on the cosmology of minor events and things to erase the boundaries between the micro and the macro worlds.
Petro Bevza’s complementary ‘Fountains’ cycle use the dynamic image of the water as a symbol of longevity and irresistible force. Bevza’s paintings suggest the source of all that is alive on our planet; at the same time he refers to the heritage of ancient Rome and its frequent use of fountains in architectural monuments.
