Presented from 17 to 19 March, Sharjah Art Foundation’s March Meeting 2018 explores issues of resistance through consideration of organising as a primary act of and condition for artistic and cultural production. Presentations, panels, performances and conversations will examine how practices in art, writing, film, music and architecture impact engagement with instances of resistance and encourage a reassessment of art’s relationship to notions of authorship, agency and the public.
Sharjah Art Foundation welcomes proposals from artists, writers, curators and art practitioners that resonate with this year’s theme. Applicants are invited to propose a presentation in performance, lecture performance, talk or other format that reflects on or responds to the MM 2018 concept.
A total of six applications will be selected to carry out their proposal during MM 2018 (the successful applicants are also expected to attend all sessions of the March Meeting). SAF will cover roundtrip travel and accommodation expenses in Sharjah for the duration of MM 2018; a “modest” per diem will also be provided.
The application form is here. The closing date is 10 January 2018.
